Sharing and Caring: The Power of "Us"

The new school year at ASSUBUD is already in full swing, filled with energy, curiosity, and countless discoveries! 🌟 The spaces of our Escolinha and Creche are once again alive with movement and bright, curious eyes, as each child explores their surroundings and discovers new ways to connect. This is a time to build bonds, learn together, and celebrate the small achievements that only happen when we share experiences. 🤲

After dedicating last year to discovering the "Me," this school year, we take an essential step in our "Me, Us, Us in the World" methodology, with a special focus on "Us".

At this stage, each child is invited to look at others, to recognize differences and similarities, and to understand that growing is not just an individual journey, it also happens through relationships and sharing. 🤝

The "Us" is built on fundamental pillars:

  • Meaningful relationships: Learning to get to know others, listen, share, and respect different opinions and feelings.
  • Collective growth: Discovering that every shared action strengthens the community and enables richer learning experiences.
  • Building empathy and cooperation: Developing the ability to put oneself in others' shoes and work side by side to achieve common goals.

Through games, group activities, and moments of exploration, each child will experience the power of "Us" in action — learning that together we can create, transform, and make our environment more welcoming and inclusive. 🌈

The Role of the Speech Therapist in Building the "Us"

Within the "Me, Us, Us in the World" methodology, the Speech Therapist plays an essential role in supporting the child's overall development.
Communication is at the heart of all relationships — it is through words, gestures, eye contact, and listening that children build their sense of "Me," connect with "Us," and learn to participate in the "World."

The Speech Therapist contributes to this process by promoting an environment rich in language, expression, and interaction.

  • At the "Me" level, the therapist helps each child recognize their own voice and express emotions and needs clearly and confidently.
  • At the "Us" level, dialogue is encouraged, along with respect for others' turns and the development of communication skills that foster cooperation, empathy, and conflict resolution.
  • Finally, at the "Us in the World" level, the therapist supports each child in using communication as a tool for active participation in the community and in understanding and valuing different forms of expression.

In daily life, the Speech Therapist's work naturally integrates into children's experiences through songs, stories, sound games, role-play, and group activities that stimulate attentive listening, oral language, and nonverbal expression.

Thus, the Speech Therapist is a key link in this methodology, helping each child find their voice, understand others', and strengthen the "Us" that grows when we learn to communicate in harmony. 🗣️🤝🌈

Is My Child "Too Immature" for Primary School?

As the new school year begins, many families start to notice how their children are adapting to the new routine and the demands of school life.

The challenge isn't always about age — language development, speech, and phonological awareness all play a key role during this critical transition phase.

In this month's article, our Speech Therapist, Patrícia Teixeira, shares the key signs to look out for and explains how early intervention can make all the difference in a child's school success. 💬

🌱 At ASSUBUD, we believe that every child develops at their own pace, and the role of Speech Therapy is to help each one express themselves, learn, and grow with confidence.

"Aprender & Brincar" Campaign

🌈 A huge thank-you to everyone who contributed to the "Aprender & Brincar" campaign! 💖

Thanks to your donations, the children at ASSUBUD now have even more materials to learn, explore, and play with joy. 📚🎨🧸

Each contribution — a notebook, a box of pencils, a tricycle — represents a new opportunity to learn, grow, and smile. ✨

We would also like to give a special thanks to our partner companies, such as Control Opcional and Tânia Lopes - Consultora de Beleza, who joined this cause with generosity and solidarity. 🤝

Your support shows that when businesses and the community come together, the impact is even greater! 💪

The campaign continues!

We're still accepting donations of school supplies, educational materials, and outdoor play items, so that even more children can benefit from this support. 📚🎨

👉 Because learning is magical and playing is essential! Keep donating and spreading joy with us! 🌈✨

Every child deserves a world of possibilities in their hands.

With your support, this can become a reality.
