Inspiring Moments: Identity, Connection, and Community

Celebrating the Year's End with Heart and Connection

We wrapped up the school year with full hearts and unforgettable memories!πŸ’›

At Escolinha, the children from our after-school care program (ATL) took center stage, shining brightly as they led a celebration filled with joy and emotion. 🌟 To the sound of traditional Portuguese songs, 🎢 our nursery and preschool groups delighted everyone with choreographies prepared with care, energy, and enthusiasm. πŸ•Ί

The ATL song, played with live guitar 🎸, and an emotional graduation ceremony πŸŽ“ made the celebration even more special.

Over in the Creche, our youngest children charmed us with tender performances that brought smiles and warmth to everyone watching. ✨ Afterwards, children, families, and staff came together for a joyful time of games and laughter, creating memorable moments of connection and fun. With laughter and play all around, everyone joined in with enthusiasm, making the event truly unforgettable. πŸ“Έ.

Both celebrations ended with a delicious snack, πŸ°πŸ‰ lovingly prepared by our families — a beautiful moment of community and sharing that reflects the true spirit of ASSUBUD. 🀝

πŸ™ We're deeply grateful to all the families, children, and our educational team who made these heartfelt moments possible. It's through this shared commitment that we continue building a joyful and inclusive path for every child. πŸ’™

Work on the “Me” – The First Step of Our Methodology

At ASSUBUD, our methodology, “Me, Us, Us in the World” values the holistic development of every child.🌱

This school year, the focus was on the “Me” stage, the first phase of this journey — helping children discover their identity, get to know their bodies, and explore their emotions and abilities.

Throughout the year, we explored this theme through stories πŸ“š and hands-on experiences, always aiming to promote autonomy, self-esteem, and self-awareness.

Through play and exploration, the children engaged in activities like:

Drawing the Human Figure: Children were challenged to draw the human figure by observing themselves in the mirror to identify features, body parts, and expressions. This activity encouraged self-knowledge, reinforcing body awareness and the sense of identity. 🧍✍️

Doll Bathing: Through this activity, we talked about the importance of personal hygiene and daily body care, promoting autonomy and healthy habits.πŸ›πŸ§ΈπŸ§Ό

Exploring the Five Senses: Using sensory games, children experienced touch, sight, smell, hearing, and taste, strengthening the connection between their bodies and the world around them. πŸ‘€πŸ‘ƒπŸ‘‚πŸ‘…βœ‹

Working with Emotions: Emotions were also central to learning — throughout the year, we created moments to talk about feelings, recognize different emotional states, and learn to express them, helping each child better understand themselves and respect others. πŸ˜„ 😌 😒 😑 😱 πŸ₯°

Family Tree: We explored family identity by creating family trees, where each child represented their loved ones, valuing their origins and emotional bonds. 🌳

Personal Name: Since a name is an essential part of identity, we worked on it with affection and creativity, helping each child recognize themselves and feel part of the group. ✍️

Work on the “Me” is essential for raising confident, autonomous children who are aware of who they are. It lays the foundation for later connecting with others — the “Us” — and the world around them — “Us in the World,” which we will continue to develop in the coming years. 🌍🀝

Throughout this process, our multidisciplinary team supports each child, offering personalized care tailored to their specific needs.

CISCO Volunteers – A World of Color and Solidarity

In June and July, we warmly welcomed the CISCO volunteers, who enthusiastically embraced several initiatives:

They painted the walls with images representing our methodology — “Me, Us, Us in the World” — bringing life and color to the space where our children grow every day. 🎨 🌈

They also assembled a new sandbox, πŸ–οΈ which will be essential for the “Growing with Nature” 🌿 project at Escolinha next school year.

And they even created a play kitchen using recycled materials, crafted with great creativity and dedication! 🍽️ ♻️

Thanks to these extraordinary volunteers, we were also able to hold another Solidarity Fair to help provide therapeutic support for vulnerable children. 🀝

To everyone who gave their time, talent, and energy, our heartfelt THANK YOU. πŸ’™

World Subud Council Meeting in Fátima: Sharing, Inspiration, and Cooperation

From July 21 to 30, Fátima hosted the World Subud Council meeting, bringing together around 120 participants from various countries. 🌐

During this gathering, Susila Dharma International — the network coordinating SUBUD’s social projects — presented the work carried out over the past year. There was also time for several projects, including ASSUBUD, to share their initiatives, challenges, and support needs. 🀲

More than just a working meeting, this event was marked by moments of deep sharing and inspiration. The stories, achievements, and struggles shared by each project touched everyone present, awakening a strong spirit of solidarity, collaboration, and willingness to contribute. 🀝

Beach, Pools, and Summer Workshops — A July Full of Life!

July was a month full of color, flavors, textures, and smiles! β˜€οΈ

At the Creche, our little ones discovered the world through cooking πŸ‘¨‍πŸ³πŸ‹ — preparing garden-fresh salads, refreshing juices, and homemade cookies made with love.

They unleashed their creativity in art activities — painting with balloons, ice, and even vertical painting! 🎈

The pool, as always, brought moments of fun and plenty of laughter. πŸ’¦

At Escolinha, the excitement continued with the traditional beach and pool days, 🌊 filling the children’s hearts with joy and enthusiasm. Between splashes, sandcastles, and sunny playtimes, they enjoyed days full of freedom, friendship, and outdoor learning. πŸ–οΈ

We ended this stage proud to see happy, curious children growing stronger in their sense of self, building their identity, and getting ready to grow in harmony with others and the world around them.🌱 🌍
